P3 UNSDG Workshop - Food
The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals do address several aspects related to food and nutrition within different goals.
The most relevant goals and targets related to food security and nutrition include:
- 1. SDG 2: Zero Hunger – This goal aims to end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture. Target 2.1 specifically calls for an end to hunger and ensuring access to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food all year round.
- 2. SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being – This goal encompasses various health-related aspects, including maternal and child health, which are directly linked to nutrition and access to adequate food.
- 3. SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production – This goal calls for sustainable consumption and production patterns, including reducing food waste and promoting efficient use of resources along the food supply chain.
- 4. SDG 14: Life Below Water and SDG 15: Life on Land – These goals are indirectly related to food security as they address sustainable use and conservation of marine and terrestrial resources, which are essential for food production and livelihoods.
- 5. SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals – This goal emphasizes the importance of global partnerships to achieve all the SDGs, including those related to food security and nutrition.
doyourbit.xyz creates customized activities and challenges to highlight these goals and associated targets. Solutions created by the youngsters can possibly help the international community aims to eradicate hunger, ensure access to nutritious and sufficient food for all, promote sustainable agriculture, reduce food waste, and improve overall nutrition and well-being worldwide.
Group Size
Ideal number of participants for classrooms is 10 to 25. For hackathons, camps and other events, larger group sizes can be accommodated up to 80.
Duration
Each workshop is delivered in 40-minute units. Longer projects can be designed for extracurricular programmes, camps, hackathons, and other events.
Ages
Our workshops are designed for ages 6-12 (grades 1-5/years 2-6).
